Cindy – Just wanted to let you know what a FABULOUS vacation we had!! Feel confident to recommend this place to anyone interested.
The entire place is gorgeous and white-glove clean. Our rooms were huge, with a separate sitting area and veranda, third floor, overlooking the pools and ocean. The bathroom was three times the size of most, with a sink on either end of the bathroom and a hot tub in the center. (The picture in your “Apple Vacations” catalogue is exactly what our room looked like.) Everyone working at the Iberostar was smiling, friendly and accommodating. The evening shows were right up there with professional, except for one goofy couples, audience-participation night.
The food was scrumptious! The buffet was delicious and had different theme nights. We ate at the “Surf and Turf” restaurant one night, dining on steak and lobster. Then we ate at the “Gourmet” restaurant, dining on a mouth-watering lamb entre and duck confit. EVERYTHING we devoured was delicious!! And…you can get a drink with any high-end brand of alcohol you desire, not just the bar variety.
Here’s an example of how attentive these servers are in making certain that you get exactly what you want: I ordered a Gray Goose martini and asked for blue cheese olives. Well, they didn’t have blue cheese olives, but the waiter said he would see what he could do. They took the pimentos out of the olives and re-stuffed them with blue cheese! Whatever you want…no problem mon!
Since we stayed five nights, we did get two free rounds of golf. You do have to call the resort and they book your tee time at the Cinnamon Hill golf course for you. If you know which night you would like to eat at which restaurant, they will book that too, before you get there. No standing in line early in the morning for a reservation at this place. A dinner reservation made well ahead is a good idea, as they do book up.
We did take a trip into Montego Bay = half day. We also took a terrific day trip that you could recommend, booked at the resort through Apple Vacations: We went to Dunn’s River Falls and hiked up the falls, then went just down the road to Mystic Mountain for a 15 minute chair-lift ride over the jungle, up the mountain, lunch, a bobsled ride down and up, then a zip line through the jungle and finally a chair lift ride to the bottom. What a super, action-packed day!!
