I always enjoy visiting Riviera Maya. I have been to this area of Mexico many times, but I try to experience something new each time. Xochilmilco (sotʃiˈmilko) is quite the fiesta! They have trajineras (small barges) that are brightly painted and illuminated with lights. The party includes musicians, and marimba players – not to mention the mariachis that serenade your boat along your way down the lagoons. We tried authentic Mexican cuisine… I even tried crickets this trip! The first two were good since they are seasoned very well, but the third one was really juicy and turned me off of crickets. Ask me how to book your excursion to Xochimilco, minus the crickets.
