June 14-Thala Beach Resort and Port Douglas
When we checked into our room in Cairns for a two night stay, Dave asked why we couldn’t stay for the entire 4 nights that we had planned for the area.
Now we have arrived at Thala Beach Resort outside of Port Douglas and the question is why aren’t we spending longer here? Thala Beach Resort is built into the natural setting around it. Driving down the road, you would never know it was there.
As for the town of Port Douglas, we loved it. The way I described my impression to Dave was that Port Douglas is to Cairns what Naples, Florida is to Ft Myers Beach, Florida. You can’t help but love them both for slightly different reasons.
