Carrie’s “Royal” Experience on Harmony of the Seas

Safety Protocols on Harmony of the Seas

At Port Canaveral, after we dropped off our luggage with the porters, we walked up to check in with our passport, vaccination card and proof of negative PCR test. This was all outside, and masks were required as we went through this process.  We were cleared to go inside through security.  Hand sanitizing stations were located throughout the lines.  We got through security, walked up the stairs to the last security checkpoint where we had to show our passports, vaccination card and negative test again.  They took our picture and gave us our wrist band.  The picture was proof of our identity as we left port and returned from port and disembarkation.

Mask were not required outside and once you were sat down to eat in a restaurant or drinking in a bar. Sanitizing stations on every floor by the elevators and throughout every deck and at every restaurant.  The Windjammer (buffet) has a washing station with soap and water before entrance into the restaurant.  Customers can’t serve themselves-food is always handled by an RCCL server.  I loved this-no strange hands/germs handling serving spoons!

CDC guidelines in place throughout the ship, indoor theaters had areas with “reserved” but this was spaced out for social distancing.

Open dining places had signs stating cleaned and ready for you or unavailable b/c it wasn’t sanitized yet.  The employees did a fantastic job at always keeping an eye on tables and cleaning them off.  They always took your plates, you never “dumped” your plates into garbage’s.

I felt very safe on the cruise ship and if anyone is afraid, they need to be reassured RCCL takes all measures seriously for all their guests.

The Ultimate Abyss onboard Symphony of the Seas

Are you ready for a magic carpet ride? Get ready to have the most thrilling ride of your life on the Ultimate Abyss which is the tallest slide at sea. It’s not a waterslide; it’s a pair of side-by-side, 216-foot-long slides that run 10 decks, from deck 16 (Sports Zone) to deck 16 (the Boardwalk) which is located at the back of the ship.
