A One-of-a-Kind Cruise Experience
Imagine falling asleep under the open sky while sailing across the ocean. Recently, Pam & I experienced a truly unforgettable night onboard — spending the evening in one of the ship’s exclusive deck igloos.
Perched over the edge of the top deck and facing aft, these cozy igloos offer a unique overnight experience with panoramic ocean views. With only two igloos available onboard, this complimentary experience is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to suite guests — making it one of the most sought-after perks on the ship.
A Cozy Night at Sea
Despite being outdoors, the igloos are thoughtfully equipped to keep guests warm and comfortable throughout the night. Each igloo includes lanterns, battery-operated tealights, extra blankets, plush robes, and even water- and wind-proof thermal robes for stepping out in cooler weather. Guests will also find water bottles, color-changing mood lights, and a radio to stay in touch with the ship’s crew if needed.
To make the experience even cozier, hot water bottles are placed between the sheets, keeping the bed perfectly toasty throughout the night.
Just as we settled in and pulled up the covers, rain began to fall — creating the perfect natural lullaby while drifting off to sleep at sea.
Weathering the Night
Overnight, strong winds rolled in, adding a little adventure to the experience. The sound of the wind sweeping across the deck made it feel like the igloo might lift right off into the night — but by morning, the skies had calmed, revealing peaceful ocean views and a bright sunrise.
The Perfect Wake-Up Call
After an unforgettable night under the stars, the morning started in the best possible way: breakfast in bed. Fresh coffee and pastries were delivered right to the igloo, allowing us to slowly wake up while taking in the incredible ocean scenery.
