Sandy Lovick opened Market Square Travel LLC for business in 1984, with a mission to provide every traveler with exceptional service. Sandy has owned and operated the agency successfully for over 30 years and now has six locations in Minnesota and an office in River Falls, Wisconsin. In 1989, Market Square Travel LLC joined the Carlson Wagonlit Travel Team now rebranded as Travel Leaders, allowing us to expand and improve our services, technology, and buying power, which resulted in reduced costs, time savings, and overall better service to our customers. Today, our goal is to be the travel company of choice for our customers, employees, and vendors. At Travel Leaders/ Market Square, we encourage new talent to enter the profession and offer a training position we call our Travel Coordinator. Our Travel Coordinators work side by side with some of our top sales people and provide them with much needed support, and in the process of supporting our sales agents, they learn the skills, processes and nuances of selling travel from some of the best travel consultants in the business.
Travel Coordinators Job Responsibilities:
- Creating and updating Profiles and Res Cards in Client Base
- Setting reminders in Client Base for agent and coordinator
- Client Base invoicing
- Preparing Documents – printing and mailing final documents for customer trips
- Using iZento to complete Res Cards and Documents
- Schedule Change updates in CB and communication with client/agent
- Seat and baggage purchase
- Thank you and welcome home cards
- Shore and tour excursion bookings and reminders
- Disney Fast Pass and Dining Reservations (My Disney Experience)
- Social Media posts
- Brochure and collateral orders
- Other projects as needed
During this training period, which lasts about 2 years, the Travel Coordinator will have access to Leisure Certified Travel Specialist coursework, vendor training, FAM trips and participation in our company’s consumer and agent events. So besides learning from the agents they work with, they can also cultivate their own specialties and experience life as a Travel Consultant.
Travel Coordinators will be working with several agents at the same time and are asked to keep a log of the amount of time they spend on each agent’s tasks. They may be asked to work consumer events, in different offices and on occasion help cover weekend shifts.
The best Travel Coordinators will be very organized and detail-oriented, while being able to multi-task, able to work with many different types of personalities, confident in their writing, communication and computing skills. Getting your foot in the door to selling travel we hope these individuals have a passion for travel, are quick learners, and understand the importance of marketing oneself.
