Adventures by Disney with the Family

There’s no need to travel to the ends of the earth for your family group to have an adventure travel experience.  Adventures by Disney offers several trips in North America that would appeal to all age groups.  These tours include all transportation between featured destinations, deluxe accommodations and most meals. The Grand Canyon Adventure begins in Sedona, Arizona where you will stay at the Enchantment Resort in the heart of Sedona’s rugged red rock country.  Casitas nestled among the rocky landscape accommodate up to 6 people with features like a kitchenette, private deck and gas fireplace. The tour includes an off-road trek through scenic Diamondback Gulch, but the more adventurous members of the group are going to want to explore this beautiful landscape on their own on one of the many hiking and biking trails, while others  relax in the luxurious spa and sauna facilities.

The next day finds you on your way to Williams, AZ, the gateway to the Grand Canyon.  You’ll have a chance to explore this unique town with its 1900’s style shops and restaurants along historic Route 66. You’ll stay at one of the Grand Canyon’s iconic lodges along the south rim of the canyon.  Enjoy a private canyon tour guided by a park naturalist and time on your own to explore the many hiking trails and scenic vistas in the park.  A private pizza party and traditional Native American dance performance are included in your two day stay here.

The next day takes you through the mesas, plains and mountains that have been the backdrop for many classic western films. It’s easy to imagine John Wayne approaching on a galloping horse, riding to the rescue of helpless pioneers, guns blazing! The Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is known for its towering sandstone mesas that dominate the landscape and offer photographers one-of-a-kind photo ops.  You’ll be joined by a Navajo guide whose knowledge of the history and legends of the region will fascinate you.  In the evening you’ll continue your lessons in Navajo traditions at a cookout hosted by your guide.  Your overnight stay at Goulding’s Lodge offers authentic southwestern dining and a museum and theater commemorating the area’s storied past.

Your next stop is Moab, Utah, home of Arches National Park, another geological marvel.  Your Adventure Guide will show you all the highlights of the park including explanations of how these unique rock formations were formed. You’ll have a chance to brave the rapids of the Colorado River on a rafting trip that takes you through the spectacular scenery of Castle Valley.  With two full days here you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the amenities of Red Cliff Lodge on your own – swimming, horseback riding and hiking are all popular activities here.   In the evening the adults can relax and dine on their own while kids enjoy a classic Disney movie and their own dinner party!  The last evening is celebrated with a riverside cookout and a cowboy sing-a-long.  If you’re lucky, you’ll learn how to yodel cowboy style!
