Missy’s Skoog visits the Great Ocean Road and Twelve Apostles in Southern Australia
The Great Ocean Road is one of the most breathtaking coastal drives in the world, featuring stunning natural landmarks like the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and London Bridge. It’s the second most visited destination in Victoria, just behind Melbourne. The idea for the road was first proposed in 1864, but construction didn’t begin until 1919, employing WWI returned servicemen. The Great Ocean Road officially opened in Lorne on November 26, 1932, and was initially a toll road until 1936. Today, it remains a must-see attraction for travelers seeking spectacular ocean views and natural wonders.
