Marvel or Pixar Day at Sea

Marvel Day at Sea

During the months of January, February and March Disney offers five night cruises to the Western Caribbean that feature a special day at sea celebrating all your favorite Marvel characters.  Departing from Ft. Lauderdale you’ll visit either Cozumel, Mexico or Georgetown, Grand Cayman plus Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

This one-of-a-kind day at sea includes:

  • Training sessions with one of your favorite heroes – Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man
  • An awe-inspiring production showcasing all the death defying powers of your favorite characters
  • Marvel movie marathon
  • Costume party
  • Age based youth programs and classes
  • Marvel trivia competitions

Meanwhile, as the kids are engrossed with fantasy fun, the adults can relax at the spa or have a peaceful meal in one of the ship’s fine dining venues.  Sounds like a win-win for everyone!

Pixar Day at Sea

Here’s a cruise that will definitely appeal to the little ones in your family, but hey!  Who doesn’t love Woody, Dory, Sully and Remy?  The whole family will enjoy sailing the eastern or western Caribbean out of Port Canaveral on a seven day cruise during the months of January through early March.  The eastern itinerary takes you to St. Thomas, Tortola and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay – all with beautiful beaches and many opportunities for exciting shore excursions.  The western itinerary includes Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Jamaica, and Castaway Cay.  Scuba diving and snorkeling anyone?

Of course the highlight of the trip is your Pixar Day at Sea.  On ordinary cruises this is a day to relax and enjoy the ship’s amenities, but this day at sea is a different story.  Start your day at a musical breakfast party hosted by Woody, Jesse, and Bullseye.  Character encounters and photo ops with your favorite Pixar friends occur throughout the day.  A dance party and an evening deck party including fireworks are fun for the whole family, and kids can attend youth clubs for storytelling, craft workshops, movie parties and video games.  Teenagers have their own space for karaoke, dancing and general hangout time (supervised, but no parents allowed!)

While the kids are otherwise engaged, parents can feel free to enjoy the spa facilities or have a leisurely cocktail and chef-prepared meal in the ship’s fine dining restaurant.  Original Pixar inspired meals are served at many of the dining venues on this special day.  I wonder if ratatouille is on the menu?
