Ireland Impressions

Have you always wanted to visit Ireland?  Who wouldn’t love visiting a lush beautiful countryside with some of the most friendly people I’ve yet to encounter!

Galway, one of my most favorite towns we visited in Ireland, this is definitely a must return place for us.  Such a charming little town.

As with any travel adventure, you need to experience the local cuisine. Once you have Irish bacon it will be hard to go back … this was my ultimate fav. Believe it or not, the scones at the gas station A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. You also need to try a Guinness stew. The Pizza in Galway delicious and we indulged more than once. We also made a stop at Sean’s Bar which is a pub in Athlone and claims to be the oldest pub in Ireland, dating back to 900 A.D.

The Cliffs of Mohr are a must see and consider taking the time to walk a little further to enjoy the breathtaking views. The average traveler won’t go the extra mile and your view will feel more exclusive, we’re certainly happy we did.  We also visited Slieve League that was above and beyond expectations, not as well known but worth the trip. Slieve League is one of the tallest cliffs in the world and is less traveled which in turn provided an intimate experience.

Donegal was a beautiful surprise—gorgeous landscapes and Atlantic views. We stayed in a unique manor that was very secluded. The B & B we stayed at was very Cinderella-like it had beautiful character, high ceilings, and gargoyle statues.

Northern Ireland … where do start?  Are you a fan of Game of Thrones? If so, you have to explore the GOT sites—Iron Islands, Tollymore Forest Park, Gothic Stone Arches, Kings Road (The Dark Hedges). These are just a few I was able to see and I can certainly share more if you are a GOT Fan.

The Titanic museum is another stop to add to your list when in Northern Ireland. You can explore the shipyard and walk along the decks. You can experience Titanic in the city where it all began, Belfast. Did you know … there are no artifacts from the ship because it was declared a grave site?

I hope to go back again soon and experience even more of this beautiful country. When you are ready to go to Ireland I would love to help and share more about my personal experience.
