Mazatlan/ Riu Hotel/ Tequila Distillery/ El Quelite/ Royal Villas
Good morning! We started off the day heading to the Riu Emerald Bay for what is called a ‘site inspection.’ Basically we tour the property; looking at the rooms, pools and all public areas. We get to take pictures and get important information to pass along to our clients like you! It is a beautiful hotel. I have posted a few pics below!
We then headed inland and northwest to La Vinata Los Osuna. It is the largest Blue Agave Plantation and the oldest tequila distillery in Sinaloa. We did a tour of the distillery and even did some taste-testing! I am not a huge fan of tequila but I do have to say… it was pretty smooth!
We then headed east to a cute village called El Quelite. It is located about 25 miles northeast of Mazatlan. We were treated to lunch and a show at a restaurant called El Mesón de los Laureanos’. It serves traditional Mexican cuisine using traditional flavors. The food was so good. We were able to make our own tacos with a variety of meats and salsas! I loved the décor of the restaurant as well and the restrooms were so cute… just look at the pictures below! After lunch and the show we walked around the beautiful town and saw more of the local people and beautiful houses with the red tile roofs covered with bouganvillas.
Afterwards, it was time for dinner. We were having dinner at the Royal Villas after doing a site inspection of the hotel. The Royal Villas are in a good location and the view from the pool at sunset was amazing!
I ended the night with some drinks with friends at a bar close to the El Cid Castilla called Gus Gus. Great music and drinks, and of course great friends! J
