Christmas Market in Nice, France

I was lucky enough to experience the Christmas Market in Nice, France.  They call this market the Village de Noel Nice and it is located in the Place Massena and adjacent to the famed department store Galeries Lafayette.  The plaza is loaded with wooden stalls each showcasing handcrafted ornaments, Christmas decor and delicious bites to eat and drink.  Throughout the plaza, there are hundreds of Christmas trees giving the entire area the appearance of a winter scene in an enchanted forest.  The Christmas Market also includes a ferris wheel, and the entire town is lit up with beautiful Christmas lights.  The Promenade des Anglais has an amazing show of lights and decorations and my favorite area in the Old Town has lovely lights strung between the buildings and over the old cobblestone streets that look like bows.  They even have a giant animated nativity scene.

Christmas Markets around Europe provide the wonder and amazement of traditional celebrations and I think these markets are worth a visit to revive your Christmas spirit.
