Here are some suggestions to make your next trip to the airport a smoother experience …
TSA Precheck
For $85 (valid for 5 years) you can apply for expedited screening at participating airports. This means no removal of shoes, no 3-1-1 liquids removed from your carry on, laptops can stay in your bag, no belt removal, and also no light jacket removal. In October 2018, 93% of TSA Prechecked passengers waited less than 5 minutes to go through security. This is valid only for domestic travel.
Global Entry
For $100 (valid for 5 years) you can apply for expedited processing through participating airports and land boarders. This is valid for both domestic and international travel.
CLEAR
For $179 (valid for 1 year, however you may qualify for a discount if you are a Delta Sky Miles member) you can get Clear. This program, the best way for me to describe it is you get to go to the front of the line, whichever line you qualify for. You can have just Clear, Clear combined with TSA Precheck, Clear combined with Global Entry. Clear also has an extra perk by going through security lines at participating train stations, ball games, etc.
Mobile Passport
This is a free service for anyone with a Smart Phone. Download the app, answer a few questions, and your expedited process going through customs at participating U.S. airports will begin.
