We Dine Disney

When I consider dining at Disney, there are a so many things I consider.  Ambiance, Appetizers and Air-conditioning are all important to me, and San Angel Inn Restaurante in Epcot’s World Showcase in the Mexico village has all three PLUS margaritas!

First let’s talk Ambiance – This restaurant located in the Mexico Pavillion feels like you stepped into a Mexican village just after dusk. The sky is a deep midnight blue and the buildings and temples are all lit up.  It’s like you’ve stepped right out of time.   I have no idea how the Disney imagineers create that lighting effect, but it is really unique and special.

Now the Appetizers – When walking around Epcot, I don’t want to fill myself up with a big meal and in general I sometimes prefer to make a meal of appetizers anyway.  Queso Fundido, Guacamole and Chorizo Emapanadas – these are menu items right up my alley and I would highly recommend.  If you decide to stay for dinner, I can also highly recommend their Camarones a la Diabla and the Chile Relleno – both spicy.
Finally Air-Conditioning – If you go to Disney World in the summer it gets hot – and humid – and I need breaks from the heat and the sun.  The darkness and coolness of San Angel Inn Restaurante is just perfect to step inside and transport yourself to another place, another time and another climate.

I also want to mention the Margaritas.  These are well crafted cocktails using high quality tequila and other liqueurs.  Not only do they serve margaritas, but they have several other cocktails that are refreshing and unique to fortify you for whatever you do the rest of the day (or night) while exploring Epcot.
