Make the Amalfi Coast a Stop on your Mediterranean Cruise

If you’ve travelled in Italy, you probably have seen Rome, Naples, and Florence — all fascinating destinations with many attractions for tourists.  If you’re ready to take a break from historic buildings, art museums, tour guides and crowds, maybe you’re ready for a Mediterranean cruise with a focus on the Amalfi Coast.

A Seabourn cruise can take you to this magical junction of land and sea in comfort and luxury.  The Amalfi Coast is a region of steep cliffs, sheltering deep hidden caves and rocky outcroppings which have been formed over time by the power of the sea.  The famous Amalfi Drive (Italy’s most romantic) is perched precariously along these cliffs, and covers the 34 miles from Salerno to Sorrento.  This World Heritage Site is one of the most scenic in the world, which is reason enough to visit there.

A visit to the towns along the coast are also well worth the trip. Seabourn’s motor launches will transport you to these fascinating ports.  Positano, with its beautiful pastel buildings, is a playground for the wealthy and a mecca for those who enjoy fine dining and luxurious resort accommodation.  It’s also popular with artists who flock to the area, drawn by its majestic views. Quaint Ravello offers stunning views of the Bay of Salerno, and medieval ruins surrounded by gardens.  Amalfi itself is home to an ancient Capuchin monastery and  a majestic cathedral, studded with colored stones.

If you would like to make the Amalfi Coast part of your cruise itinerary, I can point you in the right direction!
